Recap
Rookie James Darnell collected a pair of run-scoring singles and Wade LeBlanc scattered two hits over six innings as the San Diego Padres thwarted a series sweep at the hands of the Cincinnati Reds with a 7-3 road triumph on Sunday.
Orlando Hudson had an RBI double, rookie Logan Forsythe and Jason Bartlett added run-scoring singles and Cameron Maybin and Aaron Cunningham scored twice as San Diego finished its 10-game road trip with a 6-4 mark.
LeBlanc (1-2) yielded a three-run homer to Jay Bruce in the fourth inning, but matched a season high with six strikeouts to record his first win of 2011.
Bruce went deep for the third straight game and fifth time in seven contests for Cincinnati, which failed in its bid to record a season-high five-game winning streak.
Dontrelle Willis (0-3) permitted four runs on six hits with a pair of walks before exiting the contest in the third inning after injuring his pitching hand.
