Recap

Josh Collmenter pitched seven strong innings and Miguel Montero hit a two-run double to set the pace as the National League West champion Arizona Diamondbacks completed a three-game sweep with a 5-2 triumph over the visiting San Francisco Giants on Sunday.

Collin Cowgill and Aaron Hill each had an RBI double for Arizona, which remained one game behind NL Central champion Milwaukee for home-field advantage in the Division Series.

The Diamondbacks did suffer a loss, however, as Justin Upton exited the game after one inning with a head injury. Upton was hit by a Tim Lincecum pitch in the first but remained in the contest and scored on Montero's double before leaving.

Collmenter (10-10) allowed two runs and five hits in ending his personal two-game skid. The 25-year-old rookie has yielded three runs or fewer in eight of his last nine starts.

J.J. Putz extended his franchise-record consecutive save streak to 24 with a scoreless ninth. It was Putz's 45th save in 49 opportunities this year.

Lincecum (13-14) finished at 0-3 against Arizona this season after surrendering five runs over five innings. The two-time Cy Young Award winner allowed five runs in three of his final six outings.

Andres Torres and Carlos Beltran hit solo homers in the sixth for the Giants, who have lost five of six.
