Recap

Gerardo Parra drove in four runs and his two-run double capped a five-run sixth inning as the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-2 on Monday.

Joe Saunders (11-12) gave up a solo homer to Matt Kemp in the first inning before settling down to throw seven innings while giving up two runs on four hits with four strikeouts.

Arizona, which remained 8 1/2 games ahead of San Francisco in the National League West, pulled even with idle Milwaukee in the race for home-field advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

Dodgers starter Ted Lilly (9-14) had a one-hitter through five innings, but manager Don Mattingly pulled him after three of the first four batters reached base in the top of the sixth.

Paul Goldschmidt and Ryan Roberts greeted Matt Guerrier with run-scoring singles as part of Arizona’s big inning, helping the Diamondbacks improve to 17-3 in their last 20 and 8-2 in their last 10 road games.

Parra, who knocked in two runs in the eighth inning on a two-out double to center field, has hit safely in 11 of his last 13 games while batting .383 (18-for-47) during that span.

Arizona catcher Miguel Montero went 0-for-3 to snap his career-high 18-game hitting streak. The Diamondbacks have won five of seven games against the Dodgers in Los Angeles this season.
