Prince Fielder drew a leadoff walk in the ninth against Hong-Chih Kuo (0-2) and advanced to second on a base hit by Casey McGehee. After Yuniesky Betancourt walked to load the bases, Kotsay lined the first pitch from Mike MacDougal into center field.
Takashi Saito (4-1) pitched a perfect ninth as the Brewers, who improved to a major-league best 46-15 at home, extended their lead over St. Louis in the National League Central to seven games.
