Recap
Ryan Vogelsong won his career-high fifth straight game and the host San Francisco Giants held off the Milwaukee Brewers 4-2 on Saturday night.
Vogelsong (8-1), who allowed two runs on seven hits in five innings, has allowed two runs or fewer in 14 of his 16 starts.
Brian Wilson threw a perfect ninth for his 30th save as the Giants remained four games ahead of Arizona in the National League West.
Milwaukee fell into a tie for first with St. Louis in the NL Central.
The Brewers' Ryan Braun, who snapped a scoreless tie with his 19th home run off Vogelsong in the fourth, has homered in three of his last four games.
San Francisco took the lead in the fourth when Nate Schierholtz doubled in two runs with one of his three hits.
After Nyjer Morgan's RBI double in the fifth made it 2-2, Aubrey Huff hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom half and Andres Torres' pinch-hit RBI single in the eighth provided an insurance run.
Brewers starter Randy Wolf (6-8) allowed three runs on seven hits and struck out six over six innings.
