Recap

Rookie Trayvon Robinson snapped a tie with a two-run single in the seventh inning as the Seattle Mariners handed the Minnesota Twins their 11th consecutive loss with a 5-4 road triumph on Wednesday.

Rookies Kyle Seager and Dustin Ackley recorded Seattle's first hits of the night in the sixth inning with back-to-back RBI doubles. Ichiro Suzuki added one of his own in the seventh as the Mariners improved to 5-2 against Minnesota and clinched the season series for the first time since 2003.

Making his final start of the season, rookie Michael Pineda exited after four innings. The 22-year-old will be shut down after tossing 171 frames this season.

Cesar Jimenez (1-0) secured the win after tossing 1 1/3 scoreless innings and Brandon League worked the ninth for his 36th save of the season.

Trevor Plouffe had three hits and scored twice for Minnesota (59-95), which is mired in its longest skid since dropping 14 in a row from May 19-June 2, 1982. The Twins need to win four of their final eight games to avoid the second 100-loss season in team history.

Kevin Slowey (0-7) suffered yet another hard-luck loss. After being untouchable in the first five innings, Slowey came undone in the sixth and seventh. He permitted five runs on six hits to take the loss.
