Recap

Michael Young broke out of a slump with three hits and three RBIs as the Texas Rangers erupted for seven runs in the second inning en route to a 9-3 road triumph over the Minnesota Twins on Friday.

Adrian Beltre added two hits and two RBIs while C.J. Wilson (7-3) tossed seven effective innings for the Rangers, who posted their first win in eight games at Target Field.

Young had gone 2-for-30 with one RBI over his previous seven contests before recording at least three hits for the ninth time this season. He highlighted Texas' biggest run-producing inning of the year with a two-run single and added an RBI base hit in the sixth for a 9-2 advantage.

Beltre capped the seven-run second with an RBI double and delivered a run-scoring single in the fourth, giving him five RBIs in his last three games.

Minnesota's Brian Duensing (3-6) yielded seven runs - three earned - in just two innings, his shortest start of the season not due to a rain delay. The lefthander has lost six of seven decisions and allowed at least five runs in four of his last six outings.
