Recap

Ryan Howard homered for the third time in two contests and Roy Halladay became the National League's first 14-game winner as the Philadelphia Phillies posted an 8-6 road triumph over the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday.

After his two-run single highlighted a four-run second inning, Howard went deep in the sixth for his team-leading 24th homer.

Chase Utley and Jimmy Rollins scored twice and every member of Philadelphia's starting lineup collected at least one hit as the team won its sixth in a row.

Halladay (14-4) struggled en route to recording his third straight victory. The reigning National League Cy Young Award winner allowed five runs on eight hits in seven innings.

Antonio Bastardo yielded a solo homer to Todd Helton in the eighth inning, but Brad Lidge converted his first save opportunity of the season by retiring the side in order in the ninth.

Dexter Fowler scored three times and Helton drove in three runs for Colorado, which has dropped eight of its last 11 games.

Jason Hammel (6-11) fell for the fifth time in seven decisions after permitting six runs on eight hits in five innings.
