Michael Martinez ripped a two-run double to snap a tie in the ninth inning as the Philadelphia Phillies rallied for a 4-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday night.
Chase Utley belted a two-run double in the eighth to tie it for Philadelphia, which collected its 15th win in 23 games.
Rookie Michael Stutes (4-1) tossed two scoreless innings in relief of Cliff Lee. Antonio Bastardo struck out the side in the ninth to secure his seventh save. Lee allowed two runs, eight hits and struck out six in six innings.
With two outs in the ninth, Ben Francisco and Jimmy Rollins singled to bring Martinez to the plate. Martinez promptly deposited an offering from Sean Marshall (5-4) into right field to empty the bases before he was thrown out at third base.
Marshall came on in relief of Matt Garza and allowed three runs on five hits in two innings.
Starlin Castro belted a two-run homer in the first for Chicago, which fell for the ninth time in 13 outings.
