Recap
Kyle Blanks blasted a two-run homer and the San Diego Padres won their second straight game over the visiting Florida Marlins with a 4-3 victory on Friday.
Wade LeBlanc (2-2) gave up three runs over 5 1/3 innings for the Padres, who have won four of their last six games.
Heath Bell worked a scoreless ninth inning for his 34th save and second in as many games.
Blanks hit his fourth home run to the second deck in left field in the fourth inning for his first homer at Petco Park since May 2, 2010.
Chris Volstad (5-10) took the loss for Florida, which has lost 13 of its last 15 games. Volstad allowed four runs while striking out seven over six innings.
Florida left a total of 12 runners on base and Gaby Sanchez was the primary culprit. Sanchez, who stranded seven runners, struck out with the bases loaded in the sixth inning before grounding out with two men on in the eighth.
Florida slugger Mike Stanton, who homered in four of his last five games, struck out as a pinch hitter after being scratched from the starting lineup with a sore left toe.
