Recap
The San Diego Padres jumped out to an early lead for the second day in a row and held on for a 5-3 victory Thursday at Sun Life Stadium to finish off a three-game sweep of the Florida Marlins.
The Padres, who entered the series having lost eight of nine, have won 10 of their last 12 games in Miami.
Jesus Guzman drove in two runs with a double in the first, giving him six RBIs in the series. The rookie first baseman had only eight RBIs in 20 previous games this season.
It's the first series victory for the Padres since they swept three games at Kansas City from June 27-29.
Dustin Moseley (3-9) allowed three unearned runs over six innings for his first win since June 3.
Florida's Emilio Bonifacio extended his hitting streak to 20 games with a single in the fifth.
The game was delayed for two hours, 29 minutes in the second inning because of rain.
