Recap

Omar Infante hit a two-run homer off closer Craig Kimbrel with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Florida Marlins a 6-5 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Monday.

The Braves had their National League wild card lead trimmed to 2 1/2 games over the St. Louis Cardinals, who defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 4-3 on Monday.

Kimbrel (4-3) appeared to have retired the Marlins in order when he induced Emilio Bonifacio into an infield grounder. But Chipper Jones lost the chopper in the lights and Bonifacio reached. After being brushed back on the first pitch, Infante launched the next offering into the left field stands.

Atlanta, sparked by Dan Uggla’s 35th home run, rallied for four runs in the seventh and took a 5-4 lead.

The uprising came against Ricky Nolasco, who took a three-hitter into the seventh and had allowed only an infield hit through five innings. The go-ahead run scored on a bases-loaded fielding error by second baseman Infante on a grounder by Jones.

Clay Hensley (6-6) pitched two shutout innings and struck out three.

Mike Stanton hit a pair of home runs - he is tied for second in the NL with 34 - and Logan Morrison also homered, his 21st. All came against Braves starter Mike Minor, who struck out six in 5 2/3 innings.
