Recap
Raul Ibanez singled home the winning run in the top of the eighth inning as the visiting Philadelphia Phillies eked out a 5-4 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Friday evening.
Shane Victorino's RBI single in the top of the seventh tied the game at 4-4, and Ibanez put the Phillies ahead in the eighth with a one-out base hit against Eric O'Flaherty (1-2) that plated Ryan Howard.
Ryan Madson earned the save for Antonio Bastardo (2-0) by shutting the Braves down in the ninth.
Howard gave Philadelphia an early 3-0 lead with a first-inning home run against Brandon Beachy.
The Braves scored on a Chipper Jones single in the bottom of the frame, tied it on a two-run double by relief pitcher Cristhian Martinez in the fifth and took a one-run lead in the sixth when Alex Gonzalez scored on a wild pitch by Cole Hamels.
Bastardo got the win after striking out the lone batter he faced in the seventh inning, and Vance Worley followed with a scoreless eighth.
Hamels scattered eight hits over six innings of work for the Phillies, striking out seven. Beachy lasted just two innings, giving up six hits, before departing with a left oblique strain.
Martinez picked up the slack with four innings of hitless relief, striking out four.
