Recap
The San Francisco Giants scored three unearned runs in the sixth inning and rallied for a 4-3 victory over the visiting Cleveland Indians on Friday night.
Cleveland right fielder Shin-Soo Choo broke his left thumb after he was
hit by a pitch from Giants starter Jonathan Sanchez and is expected to miss at
least six weeks.
Sanchez allowed two hits and six walks in 4 2/3 innings. Four relievers including Santiago Casilla (1-1) followed and did not allow a hit. Brian Wilson worked the ninth for his 22nd save.
Carlos Carrasco (7-4) allowed six hits and one earned run in eight innings.
The Indians led 3-1 entering the sixth, but two errors by first baseman Carlos Santana helped the Giants' struggling offense.
Chris Stewart's single, a throwing error by Santana on Nate Schierholtz's ground ball and a single by Andres Torres loaded the bases with nobody out. Santana had a play at home on Emmanuel Burriss' slow roller, but he couldn't come up with the ball and a run scored.
Pablo Sandoval's sacrifice fly tied the game and Aubrey Huff's sacrifice fly - a popup in foul territory - scored Schierholtz.
