Recap
Ben Zobrist and Evan Longoria each delivered RBI singles in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Tampa Bay Rays came from behind to defeat Felix Hernandez and the visiting Seattle Mariners 3-2 on Friday night.
Sam Fuld singled with one out and Johnny Damon legged out an infield single with two outs when third baseman Adam Kennedy took too long to make the throw.
Longoria plated the tying run and Zobrist brought in the go-ahead run against Hernandez (11-11), who had allowed just one hit through seven innings.
Kyle Seager, who along with Ichiro Suzuki had two hits, belted his first career homer to lead off the seventh inning to give the Mariners a 2-1 lead.
Juan Cruz (5-0) got two outs in the eighth for the win and Kyle Farnsworth pitched the ninth, striking out two, for his 22nd save.
The Rays moved 11 games over .500 (67-56) for the first time this season.
Tampa Bay starter Wade Davis allowed seven hits and two runs – one earned – over seven innings, striking out a season-high eight.
Seattle first baseman Mike Carp had an infield single in the second inning, extending his hitting streak to 18 games.
