Recap

A.J. Pierzynski went 4-for-5, including a pair of home runs, as the Chicago White Sox snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 10-5 victory at Kansas City on Sunday afternoon.

The Royals, who had won seven consecutive games, cut the deficit to 4-3 in the sixth inning before the White Sox broke the game open late against the Kansas City bullpen.

Pierzynski followed a seventh-inning solo home run by Paul Konerko with one of his own, then bounced a three-run shot off the right-field foul pole with two out in the eighth.

John Danks (7-12), who had allowed 19 runs in his last three starts, rebounded with six solid innings for Chicago. He scattered 10 hits while allowing three earned runs for his first win since Aug. 27.

Kansas City starter Bruce Chen (11-8) pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing four runs on nine hits while walking two and striking out two.

Konerko's homer was his 30th, marking the seventh time in his career that he has reached that season milestone. Brent Morel added a two-run double for the White Sox.
