Robinson Cano hit a three-run homer and Eric Chavez added a two-run shot as the New York Yankees used another fast start to notch their sixth straight win, an 18-7 rout of the host Chicago White Sox on Wednesday.

Derek Jeter had his fourth career five-hit game to move into 23rd on the career hit list, and Curtis Granderson and Mark Teixeira each ripped two-run triples to help the Yankees build a 13-1 lead after three innings.

New York has outscored its opponents 38-3 in the first three innings during the winning streak.

Granderson had four hits and five RBIs, and Cano, Granderson and Chavez each collected three hits and four RBIs.

Despite being staked to a 12-run cushion, New York starter A.J. Burnett could not last five innings. He was pulled after allowing seven runs on 13 hits in 4 1/3 innings and remained winless since June 29.

Carlos Quentin had a three-run homer and four RBIs for the White Sox, who have lost five straight.
