Recap

Jarrod Saltalamacchia collected a pair of two-run singles to highlight a pair of five-run innings as the Boston Red Sox handed the visiting Seattle Mariners their franchise-high 15th straight loss with a 12-8 decision on Sunday.

Carl Crawford and Adrian Gonzalez each had three hits, drove in two runs and scored twice for Boston, which has won 17 of its last 20 overall and nine straight at Fenway Park.

Kevin Youkilis belted a two-run homer and Dustin Pedroia doubled in the sixth inning to extend his hitting streak to an American League-best 21 games.

Tim Wakefield (6-3) picked up career win No. 199 despite yielding a grand slam to Brendan Ryan. The veteran allowed seven runs on 10 hits in 6 1/3 innings.

Miguel Olivo launched a two-run homer and Ryan added an RBI single for the Mariners, who broke their mark for futility originally set in September 1992. Seattle has not won since defeating the Oakland Athletics on July 5.

Rookie Michael Pineda (8-7) surrendered seven runs on eight hits in 4 1/3 innings to take the loss.
