Recap

White Sox 7, Red Sox 4: Chicago wins seventh in a row at Fenway

Paul Konerko homered and drove in three runs and the Chicago White Sox completed a three-game sweep of the Boston Red Sox with a 7-4 victory Wednesday afternoon at Fenway Park.

Brent Lillibridge also homered and Alexei Ramirez had three hits and his sixth RBI of the series for Chicago, which has won a franchise record-tying seven straight at Fenway Park. The White Sox last won seven in a row in Boston during a stretch that spanned the 1958-59 seasons.

Boston, meanwhile, has lost four straight for the first time since starting the season 0-6.

After David Ortiz tied the game at 4 with a solo homer in the sixth– his third in five games and 13th of the season - Chicago came storming back in the seventh. Ramirez hit a one-out single off Matt Albers (1-3), advanced on a wild pitch, and later scored on Konerko's scorching line drive to left field.

Konerko wasn't finished. His two-run shot off Jonathan Papelbon in the ninth cleared the Green Monster and made it 7-4. His clutch hitting helped Gavin Floyd (6-5) improve to 5-0 in seven appearances against Boston, including 3-0 in his last four starts at Fenway Park. The righthander allowed four runs and nine hits in 6 2/3 innings. Chris Sale threw 1 1/3 hitless innings and Sergio Santos tossed a perfect ninth for his ninth save in 10 chances.
