Recap

Johan Santana carried a no-hit bid into the sixth inning and Jeff Francoeur belted a solo home run to lead off the seventh as the New York Mets handed the Philadelphia Phillies their first home loss in 13 games with a 1-0 triumph on Saturday.

Francoeur deposited a changeup from left-hander Cole Hamels just over the right-field wall for his 11th home run of the season.

Santana (9-6) did not allow a hit until Placido Polanco singled up the box in the sixth. The 31-year-old left-hander scattered five hits and fanned six in 7 1/3 innings.

That's a far better effort than Santana's last outing in the City of Brotherly Love. The two-time Cy Young Award winner allowed a career-high 10 runs and four home runs in an 11-5 loss on May 2.

Francisco Rodriguez recorded the final five outs to secure his 24th save of the season for New York (55-55), which notched just its second win in its last six games.

Hamels (7-8) deserved a better fate in this one. The 2008 World Series Most Valuable Player allowed one run and six hits while striking out 11 in seven innings to take the loss.

The setback was just the third in 16 games for Philadelphia (61-49), which also fell two games back of NL East-leading Atlanta. The Braves posted a 3-0 triumph over the San Francisco Giants on Saturday.
