The St. Louis righty threw a complete game and added three RBIs to lead the Cardinals to a 7-1 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers Sunday at Busch Stadium.
Wainwright (12-5) allowed a run and five hits while striking out nine without allowing a walk. He also highlighted a five-run third inning with a bases-clearing double.
Yovani Gallardo (8-4) got chased early and took the loss. Gallardo allowed six runs and five hits in 2 2/3 innings.
Corey Hart hit a home run in the fourth to account for Milwaukee's only run.
