Recap
Marlon Byrd belted a two-run double and rookie Casey Coleman tossed six strong innings as the Chicago Cubs recorded a 5-3 triumph over the Florida Marlins on Saturday.
Aramis Ramirez had an RBI double, Kosuke Fukudome added a run-scoring single and rookie Starlin Castro walked with the bases loaded as Chicago (67-81) won its fifth straight game.
The four-run fifth inning provided enough offense for the 23-year-old Coleman (2-2), who allowed three runs and five hits while striking out five to pick up the win.
James Russell, Justin Berg and Andrew Cashman bridged the gap to Carlos Marmol, who retired the side in order in the ninth inning for his 33rd save of the season.
Brad Davis had a run-scoring double and rookies Mike Stanton and Logan Morrison added RBI singles for Florida (73-74), which dropped its fifth consecutive game to fall under .500 on the season.
Anibal Sanchez (12-10) permitted four runs and five hits in five innings to take the loss.
