Recap
Raul Ibanez ripped a pair of run-scoring singles and Chase Utley added an RBI single and scored twice as the Philadelphia Phillies prevented the Atlanta Braves from inching closer to a postseason berth with a 7-0 triumph on Saturday.
Shane Victorino recorded three hits - including an RBI single - and Wilson Valdez added a run-scoring double as NL East champion Philadelphia (97-64) improved to 19-4 in its last 23 games.
Atlanta (90-71) mustered just three hits and is now tied in the race for the wild card with the San Diego Padres (90-71), who posted a 4-2 victory over the NL West-leading San Francisco Giants (91-70) on Saturday.
Prior to the game, the Braves honored retiring manager Bobby Cox with a 2010 Lexus LS460 and an extended cruise. The 69-year-old Cox has spent 25 of his 29 years managing with Atlanta.
Antonio Bastardo (2-0) came on in relief of rookie right-hander Vance Worley and was credited with the win after pitching one scoreless inning.
Jonny Venters (4-4) permitted four runs and four hits in 1 1/3 innings to take the loss.
