Recap
Tim Wakefield tossed eight shutout innings as the Boston Red Sox cruised to an 8-3 triumph over Roy Halladay and the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park on Sunday.
Kevin Youkilis belted his team-leading ninth home run and also tripled for the Red Sox (24-21), who received a one-hit, eight-inning gem from Daisuke Matsuzaka in Saturday's 5-0 victory over the Phillies.
Jacoby Ellsbury had a two-run single, Adrian Beltre had two RBIs and Marco Scutaro added a run-scoring single as Boston posted its fifth win in its last six contests.
The 43-year-old Wakefield (1-2) allowed five hits while walking two and striking out one to record his 190th career victory - and first since July 8, 2009.
Ramon Ramirez surrendered back-to-back doubles by Jayson Werth and Raul Ibanez and a two-run homer to Ross Gload in the ninth before getting the third out to end the game.
Halladay (6-3) surrendered seven runs and eight hits in 5 2/3 innings for his shortest outing of the season for the Phillies (26-17).
