Wade Davis pitched eight strong innings and Jason Bartlett drove in two runs to lead the Tampa Bay Rays to an 8-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Monday.
Davis (7-9) allowed one run and seven hits with a walk and three strikeouts. He improved to 3-0 against the Orioles and in those three games, while allowing two runs and 18 hits in 24 innings.
Tampa Bay took a 1-0 lead in the second on an RBI double by Ben Zobrist. Bartlett delivered a two-run single and Carl Crawford added an RBI triple to highlight the Rays' seven-run third that gave them an 8-0 lead.
Evan Longoria went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored for Tampa Bay, which improved to 30-16 on the road.
Chris Tillman (1-4) took the loss after allowing eight runs and seven hits in 2 2/3 innings. Tillman walked four and recorded two strikeouts while dropping to 0-2 against the Rays in his career.
Cesar Izturis had an RBI single in the fifth for Baltimore, which has lost four straight since the All-Star break.
