Stampeders 32, Redblacks 7: Sederrik Cunningham scored his first two career touchdowns in the fourth quarter as visiting Calgary shut down Ottawa.

Jon Cornish had 16 carries for 74 yards in his first game since Week 1, while Bo Levi Mitchell was 16-of-29 passing for 266 yards for the Stampeders (7-1), who kept pace with the Edmonton Eskimos atop the West Division. Joe West recorded 129 receiving yards and defensive lineman Demonte’ Bolden had one sack and forced one fumble.

Henry Burris completed 12-of-23 passes for 113 yards for the Redblacks (1-7), who were held to fewer than 10 points for the second consecutive contest. Defensive lineman Jonathan Williams scored Ottawa’s only touchdown on an interception return.

Cunningham scored on a 20-yard rush 8:35 into the fourth quarter and returned a punt 67 yards for another touchdown 1:09 later. Hugh Charles added a 15-yard rushing touchdown for Calgary with 2:10 remaining.

Ottawa linebacker Antoine Pruneau deflected a pass on the Stampeders’ opening drive and Williams returned it 35 yards to put the Redblacks ahead early. Calgary tied it before the end of the first quarter on a 7-yard rush by Drew Tate and took a tenuous lead 1:42 into the second after a missed field goal attempt by Rene Paredes sailed through the end zone for a single.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Burris passed Danny McManus for third on the CFL’s all-time passing yards list with 53,273. Only Anthony Calvillo and Damon Allen have more career passing yards. … Ottawa has yet to score an offensive touchdown in four home games. … Redblacks backup QB Thomas DeMarco replaced Burris in the fourth quarter but was injured on a low hit and left the game.
