Roughriders 38, Redblacks 14: Darian Durant connected with Ben Swain for a 25-yard touchdown to start the onslaught as visiting Saskatchewan scored 24 points in the first quarter and cruised to victory.

Durant was 19-for-25 passing for 294 yards and running back Will Ford scored two touchdowns for the Roughriders (3-2), who won their first road game of 2014. Rob Bagg led all players with six receptions for 123 yards, David Lee recorded two sacks and Tristan Jackson caught an interception and returned a missed field goal for a touchdown.

Henry Burris struggled, completing 17-of-33 passes for 217 yards and tossing two interceptions, and kicker Brett Maher was 0-for-4 on field goal attempts for Ottawa (1-4), which fell to 0-3 against West Division opponents. Dobson Collins scored a rare onside-kick touchdown and backup quarterback Thomas DeMarco completed a touchdown pass to Jamill Smith in the fourth quarter.

Burris was picked off on consecutive possessions after Swain’s touchdown 4:24 into the contest, leading to 10 more Saskatchewan points. A 63-yard punt return by Jackson with 2:54 remaining in the quarter set up Ford’s fifth touchdown in two games to give the Roughriders a 24-0 cushion.

Maher missed a 42-yard field goal 6:25 into the second quarter and Jackson returned it the length of the field to extend the advantage, but his touchdown was cancelled out by Collins on the following possession. DeMarco booted the ball down the field on third down with Collins in an onside position and Collins ran 73 yards and beat the confused Roughriders' defence to the ball in the end zone.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Collins' onside kick touchdown is the first in the league since 1999. … Prime Minister Stephen Harper was in attendance at brand-new TD Place Stadium, which hosted its first Redblacks loss. … CFL sack leader John Chick was double-teamed on 33 of 45 plays, allowing the rest of Saskatchewan’s defence to stifle Ottawa. … DeMarco finished 5-for-6 for 84 passing yards.
