Blue Bombers 34, Alouettes 33: Drew Willy connected with Julian Feoli-Gudino for an 18-yard touchdown on third down with 29 seconds remaining as visiting Winnipeg rallied to stay undefeated.

Willy completed 24-of-38 passes for 256 yards for the Blue Bombers (3-0), who are off to their best start since 2003. Winnipeg’s defence accounted for two touchdowns as Desia Dunn and Chris Randle both capitalized on gaffes by Montreal quarterback Troy Smith.

Smith was 18-of-32 for 309 yards and matched his career high with three touchdown passes for the Alouettes (1-2). Smith connected with Chad Johnson, Kenny Stafford and S.J. Green for scores while Alan-Michael Cash recorded two of the team’s four sacks.

The Blue Bombers trailed by five points after Montreal's Sean Whyte made a 22-yard field goal with 2:18 remaining, but Willy engineered a 75-yard drive to put Winnipeg in front in the final minute of the contest. The Alouettes were unable to move the ball into field-goal range on their final possession.

Johnson caught his first CFL touchdown - a 46-yard bomb from Smith - 5:29 into the contest. Winnipeg pulled ahead by the end of the first quarter and Dunn recovered a fumble by Smith and returned it 70 yards with 4:19 remaining in the first half. Randle scored on a 28-yard interception return in the fourth to pull the Blue Bombers within 30-28.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Winnipeg SB Nick Moore led all receivers with seven catches for 84 yards. … Alouettes RB Brandon Whitaker carried the ball 14 times for 68 yards and made five catches for 42 yards. … Winnipeg rookie Paris Cotton returned six kicks for 157 yards in his CFL debut, recording a long return of 51 yards.
