Eskimos 28, Tiger-Cats 24: Mike Reilly completed 29-of-40 passes for 253 yards and one touchdown as host Edmonton scored the final 15 points to secure its second straight comeback victory.

Grant Shaw put the Eskimos (2-0) ahead with a 43-yard field goal after missing attempts of 50 and 51 yards earlier in the fourth quarter and added a 15-yard field goal with 48 seconds remaining. Patrick Watkins returned a fumble for a touchdown and Odell Willis recorded three sacks in another spirited defensive effort.

C.J. Gable recorded 96 combined yards and two touchdowns but Hamilton (0-2) lost starting quarterback Zach Collaros with 7:44 remaining in the second quarter after a hard hit by Willis. Jeremiah Masoli was 5-for-15 for 118 yards in relief and fumbled on consecutive plays in the fourth quarter.

Masoli connected with Gable to give Hamilton an 11-point advantage 3:25 into the fourth quarter, but Watkins stripped Masoli of the ball and returned it 50 yards for a touchdown on the Tiger-Cats’ next possession. Masoli’s night was over after a fumble on the following possession, and Dan LeFevour was unable to complete a game-winning drive, coming within 2 yards of a touchdown on the final play.

Reilly threw a 3-yard touchdown to Nate Coehoorn to open the scoring midway through the first quarter but LeFevour answered with a 2-yard touchdown run to knot the score heading into the second. Gable put Hamilton ahead with a 7-yard touchdown rush 3:35 into the third quarter.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Collaros finished 4-for-8 for 53 yards and one interception as all three Hamilton quarterbacks threw picks. … Willis could be fined by the league for his hit on Collaros after video review revealed helmet-to-helmet contact. … Shaw finished 4-for-6 in field goal attempts.
