Eskimos 37, Lions 3: Mike Reilly ran for a pair of touchdowns and Pat White added another rushing score as host Edmonton pounded West Division rival BC.
Reilly threw for a season-high 289 yards and John White rushed for 122 yards on 17 carries for Edmonton (12-5), which guaranteed itself a home game in the West semifinals. Adarius Bowman hauled in five passes for 104 for his seventh 100-yard game of the season and Hugh O'Neill added three field goals as the Eskimos piled up 30 first downs and swept the season series.
Kevin Glenn passed for a season-low 68 yards for BC (9-8), which was outgained 559-161 and recorded only seven first downs. The Lions, who also committed 13 penalties, saw their league-best defence surrender more than 30 points for only the second time this season.
O'Neill converted a 47-yard kick on Edmonton’s first possession and Reilly stretched the margin to 10-0 one drive later with a 2-yard sneak. Paul McCallum countered with a 21-yard field goal to temporarily halt the Eskimos’ momentum, but Pat White’s 10-yard scoring run with 10:18 left in the second quarter and O'Neill’s 44-yard field goal two possessions later sent Edmonton into the break with a 20-3 lead.
A 1-yard sneak by Reilly early in the third quarter and O'Neill’s third field goal later in the quarter stretched the margin to 30-3. Pat White capped off the dominant performance by the Eskimos when he connected with Calvin McCarty on a 5-yard TD in the fourth quarter.
