Argonauts 33, Eskimos 32: Chad Owens caught two touchdown passes from Ricky Ray as Toronto began its four-game homestand with a victory.

Ray went 22-of-33 for 224 yards and Owens led all receivers with nine receptions for 106 yards for the Argonauts (5-8), who won their second straight game to keep pace atop the East Division. Swayze Waters was 6-for-7 on field goals attempts, including kicks of 45 and 47 yards.

Mike Reilly completed 24-of-32 passes for 272 yards and tossed a touchdown to both Kendial Lawrence and Nate Coehoorn while also rushing for a score for Edmonton (9-5), which fell to an East Division opponent for the second time in three weeks. Lawrence also returned a kickoff for a touchdown while Dexter McCoil recorded his fifth interception.

Owens did his damage early, catching a 28-yard touchdown pass 4:39 into the first quarter and adding a 6-yard touchdown catch 3:33 later. Lawrence responded to Owens’ second score with a 75-yard touchdown return on the ensuing kickoff.

Reilly put the Eskimos in front in the second quarter with a 23-yard touchdown rush and a 15-yard scoring strike to Lawrence, but the Argonauts regained the lead on the strength of four second-half field goals by Waters. A 15-yard touchdown catch by Coehoorn and a two-point conversion brought Edmonton within one point with 25 seconds remaining in the game, but Toronto ended the comeback attempt by recovering the onside kick.
