While Covers Mobile uses as little data as possible, you can ensure that the application only gets data when you want it to. Make sure your refresh rate is set to Manual in My Settings if you would like to conserve your data delivery. You can then control how often the scores and information are updated on the phone.

Will Covers Mobile work wherever I have wireless coverage?
You need a wireless data connection in order to use Covers Mobile. Not all service providers offer a data connection in all locations on their network. Consult your provider for more information.

I cannot access the webpage to download the program. Or, I get to the page to download the application, but I cannot download the file.
A number of things could be wrong here. First check to make sure your phone is compatible with Covers Mobile (Java Enabled, 128x128 screen resolution). Second ensure you have a data package, and third ensure you are in a service area where you can receive the data connection. If all of the above are OK, your service provider may have restricted your phone’s Internet or data settings. Contact your service provider and ask them how to allow your phone to access the Internet.

I'm having problems. Can I contact someone to resolve the issue?
Issues you may have getting Covers Mobile working on your phone could be related to your phone hardware or your wireless provider. If you are sure that it is not related to either of the two issues above you can contact our technical support staff here. Covers Mobile is still a Beta product, and therefore we will log your issue and attempt to contact you with a resolution as soon as possible. The Beta program is in place to help improve Covers Mobile for its official release at some point in the future. Please give us your feedback.

I can download the application, but I get this error when launching the application: "Network error: There was no connection to the internet detected. For any Java application to access the internet from your phone you must have GPRS enabled."
If you can download and run the application, but it does not work, then it could be an issue with incorrect Java Session settings being active on your phone.

In order to check the Java Session settings on your phone (each phone has these settings in different menu locations) go to Menu -> Web Sessions -> Java Sessions. Some carriers use the same settings for both WAP and HTTP, in that case you may not see a different Java Session setting. On some phones you may need to make sure that the access point the phone uses is an Internet access point rather than a WAP access point. You can find these at Tools -> Settings -> Connection -> Access points (each phone has these settings in different menu locations).

If you have trouble accessing these settings to verify their values, contact your service provider and have them set your settings for java applications that access the Internet.

When I download Covers Mobile, my device says it might not be coming from a trusted source. What does this mean?
If you see this message when downloading, it means that your service provider does not know where the application is being downloaded from. Covers Mobile will work as normal even if your service providers can't determine its source. The software industry generally identifies an application's source using a combination of digital signatures and trusted third parties; however, the majority of mobile devices sold do not support this practice.

On my Palm device or mobile device with a non-standard keyboard, when I select some of the number keys they do not work or give me different results than they should. Is there a problem with the program or my mobile device?
No. The application is looking for a number such as the # 5, and your device may be entering the letter attached to the number key. If your device requires you to press a shift key or ALT key to enter a number, do this while selecting the number in Covers Mobile.

How do I get my files updated on my PDA from my personal computer?
Most PDAs will come with cables or a docking station, which will allow you to connect your device to your personal desktop/notebook computer. A connection will initiate a 'sync', which will update apps on your PDA such as address books and calendars.
[ top ]

Can I access my e-mail using a PDA?
Specific PDA models will provide wireless access to your e-mail account using a wireless modem. For wireless retrieval of e-mail, you must subscribe to a wireless data network service.
[ top ]

How should I clean my PDA's screen?
The best method for cleaning your PDA is the use a micro-fiber cloth, which won't scratch the screen surface. Try avoiding using cotton as it is slightly abrasive and might scratch your screen.
[ top ]

What is a web-enabled phone?
A web-enabled phone has a micro browser built right in the device. This browser allows the mobile user to access specific web sites directly on the phone.

What is a micro-browser?
