Last year was a battle. Clemson out gained Bama 550 yds to 473 yds total. D. Watson threw for 405 yds and 4 TD's while throwing 1 interception. The game turned on the trick play onside kick. I got burned by the oh by the way back door cover as the Tigers scored late to pull within 5. Last year was a passing game and I believe this year will be a defensive game.Stat-wise the Tide and the Tigers look pretty close offensively and defensively except I believe that Bama will run the ball on Clemson. Watson has thrown 17 pics this year and Nick Saban has had another year to study him. This years defense is a notch above last year's. They tackle in space and rush the passer. Bama's offense who knows. Kiffin ? Wow Still I believe Bama has the advantage here facing the same opponent as last year. Col we've had this discussion before. Bama -6.5

MWS good point about Johnny Fukup and Chad Kelly. They both hurt us two years in a row. I have posted on the Tide to cover the spread 6 times this year and have been lucky enough to hit 5 of those posts. The one that I missed was the one I felt the strongest about which was Chad Kelly and Ole Miss. Bama had double revenge and won the game but Ole Miss scored late for the dreaded back door cover. I believe that this is the best defense that Nick Saban has ever had although Kelly and Ole Miss did have success back in week three. I think that one reason for Watson's pics is the fact that to get ready for the NFL he's trying to become more of a pocket passer much like Brett Hundley from UCLA a couple of years ago. Bama's game plan will probably be just that trying to contain him and keep him in that pocket where he may get a little uncomfortable. On offense I'm hoping we can throw a saddle on Bo Scarbrough and ride him to open up some play action. Clemson a worthy opponent and it should a great game. I believe Watson makes some mistakes and the Tide defense will make some big plays as they have all year. The offense will grind and gain some traction in the second half and Bama will cover in a defensive battle. MWS I take it from your avatar you are a Clemson fan. You can take comfort in the fact that your two greatest coaches are former Tide football players and assistant coaches. MWS GLTU Sir just not in this particular contest

has anyone considered what happened in the past will bound repeat itself? In sports, nothing is a sure thing. I can only go by the past and extrapolate the trends. BAMA has been torched by mobile QBs running a hurry up spread offense.
I've already put my pick in a week ago. I went with Clemson +7 (at -120 vig, which is bullshit BTW, but I jumped on it as soon the lines released) amd Over 51. Look at the history of last year's game. The line released at 54 and ppl pounded the under all the way down to 51. We will see what the public betters do up to game time. If you look at the first round of the playoffs, the trend is still the same for both games. Bama covering and the under prevailed. Clemson shutdown Oklahoma and covered. I'm betting that history will repeat once again. Both teams have mobile QBs that can extend plays. Clemson's D ain't that good to shut down Bama. Both teams can score. If it's a close game, the over will rear its head once again.
Bama is going to put points up on the scoreboard. If Clemson gets behind, which I think will happen, Watson will do his magic. This will be a 4 quarter game, probably going down to the last minute. I just hope no one gets hurt in this championship game like that fackin' Temple vs Navy game, lol.

Tigga you are correct Bama has been torched by mobile QB's in the past including the one they will face Monday night. However Saban has been adjusting his defensive philosophy to address just that issue. We'll see tommorow night how successful he has done with it. Tigga GLTU Sir just not in this particular contest.

Even after 113 years, I'm not sure I'm ready to bump John Heisman out of the top two, but I know that from 1940-1989, four Bama men coached Clemson for all but 4 seasons. So don't forget about Frank Howard, Charley Pell, and even Hootie Ingram. He didn't win many games, but he did give us the Tiger Paw TM.

Lets see here (Alabama 45 Clemson 40) last years score. Now Alabama haves a better defence then last year and also a better memory of the last meeting. The defence will bottle up Watson to make him pass which will turn to interceptions sooner or latter. Alabama will do what it takes to Win! Alabama - ML

First and foremost if you do not see how close this game will be you really do not know college football. Clemson just shut out an Urban Meyer team that Prides itself on scoring on every possession if he can because that's how Urban is. Urban hasnt been shut out in 15 seasons. Brent Venables the D Coord. for Clem had a great game plan and if he uses a very similar gameplan against bama they will be successful and that was bringing alot of pressure. Bama against Wash, If you take a way a pik 6 and a long run with 4 miss tackles on it, this was a 10-7 game but the bama D has put up points all season so kudos to them. Clem D has gave up points all season but is climaxing at the right time. This will be a field position based game and a defensive 1 i feel. The formula to shut down Alabama was very well shown in the LSU game you bring someone extra off the edge early and often and keep Hurts in the pocket and make him throw. Hurts never breaks from within the pocket he always runs outside pocket and uses his speed that is why LSU was so successful defending bama because they understood they needed to bottle him up and make him beat you with his arm which he cannot. Hurts only threw for 57 yards in the entire Washington game, Qbs throw for that on first drives yet alone an entire game. Bama front 7 is the best in the NCAA but the weakess lies in the secondary you just never get to see it bc that front 7 is special but Ole Miss exposed the secondary and A&M showed some holes as well. Mike Williams & A Scott will be huge for Clem and dont sleep on Leggette at TE. Ppl you really cant fathom the pressure that will be on Sarkisian callin plays for the O tomorrow in place of Lane. Lane had great feels for games & could look at players and kno wat to expect, Sarkisian does not have that kind of feel for his personnel i feel. I bought this thing up to +7.5 and played money line at +210. BOL to all, it will be epic. FYI, I live in Alabama but i feel this is Clemson's year!
