Well well well college football is just around the corner. Seems like the longest summer every waiting for football to start since seeing the Kings raise the Stanley Cup. I know some of you guys have been betting baseball to hold you over this summer. For me I'm strictly hockey and football so damn it feels good that we are this close to the season starting.
First off I will post every week. I know I will get some guys saying "you bet way too many favorites" but I don't care. I don't bet all favorites I just bet the favorites that I think stand out the most. Week 1 will be no different as I have noticed in the past big favorites seems to cover a lot. After looking at some games this is what I got so far.
Also I look forward to chatting with everyone this season and hearing everyone's opinions and trying to make the most out of this season. As always BOL to everyone and if you have thoughts or comments let me know.
LOCKED IN
MICH ST -7
Boise St just lost way too many people. I know they have done great lately playing the elite teams and I have definitely backed them in the past but this year I just don't see it. Kellen Moore is gone and that will be hard to replace
OHIO ST -22.5
Urban Meyer puts on a show for his first game in Columbus. This team is way too talented and they have a very good defense. If OSU could win the Big Ten championship I think they would actually have a chance. Anyways the Bucks roll here.
CLEMSON -3
Tigers look to bounce back after being spanked by WV last year. This team returns way too much talent. Great QB, great RB and two of the best WRs in the country. With or without Sammy Watkins Clemson should win easily.
FLORIDA - 29
Again this team has way too much talent for Bowling Green. BG might be lucky to score 10 points if that. Plus Muschamp will have these guys ready for their first game of the season. Gators roll
OREGON -35.5
I'm a big fan of Oregon. Chip Kelly is a genius and I think these guys end up winning the PAC 12 conference. As I stated in my futures bets post, I think Thomas leaving the Ducks was a blessing. They have two new QBs that are very good, the Black Mamba is out of this word and Barner is still a stud in the backfield. Look for the Ducks to score early and often. Chip Kelly will continue to reload year after year.
OKLAHOMA -31
UTEP?!?! Enough said. Think Sooners will beat up on some teams this year but like always I'm not convinced they will win the Big 12.
BAMA -12.5
Wow what a game to start off the season. This game kind of reminds me of LSU vs Oregon last year. Speed vs Defense. Well we all know who won that game last year. Bama might struggle a little bit at first but I don't see Denard and the boys standing a chance the full 4 quarters. Might be close in the beginning but Bama will eventually pull away and win by 2 or 3 TD's
LEANS
TEXAS -28.5
WEST VIRGINIA -24
SOUTH CAROLINA -7
Will probably end up playing more games and as I lock them in I will post. Comments or thoughts welcome

I must have skipped over that one. I was looking at USC vs Hawaii too. Think Georgia will blow them out even though they are without there RB?
Hard to say...I think Texas will be good this year just wish they would get their QB situation figured out. They might struggle a little bit first game of the season, but their defense is going to be stout. Brown also should run all over the place and we have some decent WRs. Will probably end up making a play on them as well

I like Mich St. and S. Carolina. As for Clemson, I can't figure out if they are the real deal are just snuck up on some people last year. Also, its hard to predict what kind of team Auburn will be. I lean Auburn but won't be betting the game. It will definitely be a fun game to watch regardless. Good luck with your wagers.

Good luck Captain Hook, I'm thinking about starting this season with last seasons bad habits betting 7pt teasers with 7 pt faves, middle of the road teams or straight up garbage games. Early leans Boston Collage, Troy, Northwestern and Tulsa.

BUNNY....Saw your picks. Looks like we agree on a lot
JIMMY....I see all 3 of those teams rolling. Look forward to your plays this year
CEVECHE....I'd have to agree. Plus they got that stingy defense
SHARK....Sometimes when we have those big spreads I like to take the TT over for the favorite. I did that a lot last year with teams like Bama and LSU and they won me some decent cash. If OU TT is like 42 or something I would definitely be on the over

i dont have problem with laying the big chalk---its just there are ome teams that tend to let go off the pedal in the final mins, and the bakc door cover opens.... i also think like you that sometimes betting on a TT is better than laying the chalk

the QB issue may not matter against the cowboys. the horns may get 400 rush yds. Just hand it off.

I am close to locking in WV, but what makes you think they can beat them by 24 this year when they only beat them by 21 last year? Just looking for input.

I dont know why people are having doubt in Clemson at this point. I admit I first had my doubts when I heard Sammy was out but even without him they have lots of talent offensively and Taj Boyd will be one year older and one year wiser. Meanwhile Auburns QB situation is SHAKY at best. Jimmy has posted a press conference with one of the Auburn officials (Offensive Coordinator I think??) and he just plain and simply didnt seem too thrilled about his team saying how young they were and how many "young mistakes" they were making in that scrimmage. Talking about how "they need to become more consistent." Pair that with the fact that Clemson was thoroughly embarrassed by WVU last year letting them score 70 points, I know that will be in the back of their mids going into this game. They will be trying to score a lot of points in this game and Auburn with shaky QB play and suspect runningback play will not be able to score a lot. THis game may be close for a half but Clemson pulls away and wins by DD fairly easily. Fade Auburn or stay away from this game IMO
