Let's face it, week 1 has powerhouse vs cupcake(s) written all over it (along with 2/3). Perfect time for teams to flex their muscles, get some votes and pad the stats. With only a little over a month remaining, let's get to it:
(In no order)
Oklahoma(Utep) -30/-35
Oregon(ArkySt) -33/-36
Georgia(Buffalo) -35/-38
LSU(NTex) -38/-42
Ohio St(MiamiO) -28/-30
USC(Hawaii) -35/-38
Fla(BG) -32/-35
(There might be a couple I'm forgetting)
Three I have circled so far as definite plays:
1. Ohio St -28/-30
----Anything at -28 and under is a gift, especially at the Shoe with Urban taking the helm in his first game. Even at 30ish, will be a play for me. Bucks D will be 2nd to MSU in the B1G, and have one of the most underrated secondaries in the country.....oh yeah, the spread O is back....45-10.
2. LSU -38/-42
----I know, I know....LSU doesn't have the O, new QB, many key losses, etc...Miles will want to get confidence in Mett, pad the stats and run the ball down their throats the entire game. Even with the key losses on D, I don't see how NTex scores more than 3/6. This may be an unpopular pick, even with the high spread, but I'll bite....48-3.
3. Last would be a toss up between UGA and Oklahoma.
----UGA has their sights set high on their heisman touted QB and possible National Title hunt, why not score in bunches against Buffalo to help both of those causes? Defense ain't too shabby either.. 56-10
----Honestly, how long has Landry Jones been at Oklahoma? This kid will light up the scoreboard in week 1, even with the loss of their key WR from LY. I see another showing from LY's week 1 against Tulsa, running up and down the field at will.....and with brother Stoops back on the defensive side, it HAS to be better. 55-14
Who ya got?
