You are MORE likely to be a victim of a crime while living in Canada vs. the USA. Surprising to me.
Canada 23.8% vs. USA 21.1 likely a victim of crime ( people victimized by crime as a % of the total population)

If you believe STATS provided by some agency that is most likely tied to some funding operation... Then you most likely are satisfied with a US unemployment rate that is "so-called" below 10% and getting better...
It's all propaganda to get funding for certain projects and operations... it always is.
Remember... THEY make the criteria for those studies... and THEY adjust that criteria to fit THIER desired results.
Less than 10% unemployment my arse... It's higher NOW than it was in the 1930's but they simply changed the criteria to make themselves look good.
Come back after walking down the street while drunk... at midnight... with a lot of bling on... them tell me what the crime rate is... If you survive... It's low... If you don't... It's high and more money goes to the paramilitary police organizations and into the pockets of the politicians who are buying the gear for them from selected vendors.
When I was young the police didn't need a M-16 in every vehicle and they didn't have armored assault vehicles. They had numbers in manpower which worked just fine to catch criminals and curb crime. A lot of crime problems are the direct result of the people in the high crime neighborhoods just not giving a crap anymore. The fabric of society has deteriorated and the promotion of wrongdoing and has been glorified in the music, movie and TV industries... not to mention the conduct of damn near every single elected official in the local, state and federal governments.
It's just business as usual...
...but there will be a day...

In the US, far higher murder rate by firearm than in Canada. Perhaps, cities with high firearm crimes NEED tough gun laws. Whereas, cities with low rates don't need them.
