well guys here are my predictions for the weakest division in baseball
6. Astros 65 wins
They're gonna be bad for a while. Next year they move to the A.L. West. They decided to put Brett Myers in the pen as the closer. Even though he threw 200 innings last year i don't think it matters. I believe Wandy Rodriguez will be gone at the deadline. Lots of work to do with a depleted farm system. Journey of a million miles and this year is the 1st step
5. Cubs 70 wins
Theo Epstein can say what he wants but they're rebuilding. Why didn't they trade Garza? No Zambrano makes you automatically better. Last year the Cubs hit 0 grand slams and their oppenents hit 8 grand slams. They'll never be serious about winning until they get rid of Alfonso Soriano. They have no interest in winning and they don't have to as long as the beer is cold
4. Brewers 77 wins
No Fielder. Braun wasn't suspended. Funny joke for everyone the Brewers think Aramis Ramirez will replace FielderHe won't dive in front of a ground ball to save his life. Look up the word albatross on wikipedia you'll see Aramis Ramirez's contract. Boy they didn't think K-Rod would accept the arbitration huh The Brewers had a .704 winning % at home last year. They were 55-22 on Friday-Sunday. 41-44 Monday-Thursday. Greinke was 11-0 at home whereas Marcum had a 2.21 ERA on the road. I think they'll trade Greinke at the deadline myself. I think Fielder's loss will cripple the brewers.
3. Pirates 78 wins
If anyone was in this forum in the offseason you knew i picked the Pirates to win the Central and then they traded for A.J. Burnett. My man keyelement was busting my chops the whole offseason I guess the reason they got him was the Pirates last year were dead last in 100 pitch starts by their starters with 28 Like the Mccutchen long term deal. Pirates by making the Burnett deal said to me no interest in winning
2. Cardinals 79 wins
No pujols,LaRussa and Dave Duncan= 79 wins. Is Beltran really an upgrade? Boy did they spit in Pujols face. last year Jake Westbrook and Chris Carpenter led MLB in times the bases were loaded in their starts. 25 for Westbrook and 24 for Carpenter. I love Berkman but he needs to worry about showing he didn't just put up numbers in a contract year and not about the Astros moving to the A.L. I've said for 2 years Pujols was leaving and the Cards were going to find out how much pujols means.
1. Reds 88 wins
By default. Latos is a pain in the ass. Marshall and Madson are nice additions personally i'd like to see Chapman as the closer. I think the Reds traded the wrong 1B if Votto doesn't sign long term they'll have to move him in the winter. Last year 12 walk off losses by the Reds
Final thoughts. The weakest division in baseball. You could ask 10 people and they'd have 10 different answers on who wins this crap division. No Pujols and Fielder. Showing why the N.L. needs the DH. 2 teams rebuilding have no clue about the Pirates. But there is 1 thing i know someone will win this division. Tomorrow i predict the N.L. West. Your thoughts on the N.L. Central?

Packers, I like you, but please stop with "by signing this guy that told me they had no interest in winning." I've read that a dozen times from you and it's such an absurd statement. Pirates are better with AJ Burnett. Indians are better with Derek Lowe. Neither team makes these moves if that wasn't the case.
And no, the Brewers dont think Aramis will replace Prince. If they had to have someone to replace Prince they would have made sure not to let Prince go in the first place. It wasn't plausible. Aramis is a nice second option for what was available. How many guys out there could realistically give them .300/30/100 when healthy? Aramis can if healthy.

sk if you don't like my opinions don't read em kay That goes for everyone and the Pirates would be better with a monkey than A.J. Burnett. Again if you don't like my opinions don't read em.

vegas its my opinion. I'd rather have herpes than A.J. Burnett. Nice to see you hang out in the offseason. Get in line with everyone else on the pirates jokes. Everyone got them in back in december

6. Astros. The good news is that this is the last time anyone, including the Astros, can finish in 6th place, since next year they will be in the A.L. West, thereby giving the Angels and Rangers a legitimate shot at 100 wins. Yeah, I know you think the Angels go there this year, but I have my doubts.
4A-4B. Cubs-Pirates. Listed in alphabetical order since I have no special preference. The Pirates (aside from the Burnett deal) are simply the most incompetent operation in all of professional sports, while the Cubs could anger a saint with the patience of Job. Where the hell do they get off blackmailing Mesa for a new Spring Training facility while giving their home grown, severely abused fans, a dump like Wrigley and a pretender like the Cubs? They deserve each other and if I had my druthers I would druther they both fall to the Astros and tie for 6th.
1A-1B-1C. Brewers-Cards-Reds. Here again, alphabetical, no real preference. Brewers will miss Prince but have the pitching to overcome that (in this division). Cards, same story, no Pujols, but the pitching is there. Reds. Nice roster, too bad Baker is still managing. If the Brewers and Cards refuse to contend Baker will find a way to drag them into it.
Now and then even a BLIND squirrel can find an acorn

I think that the Buccos win the division. I'm not cracking any jokes on the Pirates. There's no way one player costs ANY team 11 wins though. AJ is going from the spotlight to one of the biggest small market areas in baseball. AND it's in the NL. I expect him to play a lot better then A LOT of the pirates recent starting pitchers.

Don't get all defensive on me. I like your opinions in general, that's why I read them. I just think this one opinion in particular is way off base. It really doesn't make any sense. The difference between the Yanks and the AL East and the Pirates and the NL Central is like night and day. He's still got good stuff, he's still got the experience, he's still got plenty of past success, and he's still young enough. He'll be fine.

Nice write-up. Please explain "Latos is a pain in the ass". I think the Reds have really improved themselves. Both the starting rotation and the bullpen are much improved. Off season moves show me what everyone is saying -that the Reds are "all in this year" Please explain why in this weak division, you don't think they win at least 90. Thanks

I thought they were worth $10 to win the division at 30/1...

good write up....only one team with over 80 wins though?
I think the Brewers pitching will let them compete with the Reds/Cards. Amazingly you may have given the Stros more wins they they'll actually get. I had a look at their depth chart and couldn't recognize most of the starters let alone the 2nd and 3rd options!!

At least it was only $10. Pirates MAY be the worst team in MLB, at least they have the potential. No way that staff gets off to the start they did last year.

Wow. You're so certain huh? you must have a HUGE wager on the UNDER for Pirates season wins!

chalk Latos comes off as arrogant. I don't believe he has the mindset to be a #1 starter. I saw an interview with him on a reds preview show. He didn't have the courtesy to get the gum out of his mouth. Maybe that means nothing to most people but it shows unprofessionalism. Just my opinion. Also he struggled pitching in petco park now he's headin to cincinatti where balls are leaving the park. Just my 2 cents The Reds probably should win 90 but i think all these teams will not do much. I just don't see a team in this division winning 90 games. Just my opinion. Hope i helped chalk

416 nothing would shock me with the Astros. but i think they'll get a little fat off the Cubs and others in their final year in the N.L. Didn't say they'd win 80 games. I actually have the Mes winning fewer

Just great dickhead. I said MAY be the worst, but of course you had to make it sound like a a certainty and a prediction. See if you can find an American or British school in Hong Kong and take a remedial course in reading and comprehension. All you have shown on this site is ignorance and/or stupidity (do you even know the difference?), now you want to jump to conclusions and read shit into a post that just ain't there.

Same starting 5 for the Crew and they are going from 96 wins down to 77? Was Prince really worth 19 wins? It's just my opinion but I think the Brewers win this division again and easily win more than 85 games this year.
Best of luck to you this year. I respect your opinion.

thanks mail i really think not only that fielder's gone you have the egos of Morgan and K-Rod. K-Rod bitched last year he didn't get to close. I think K-Rod and Greinke get traded at the deadline and aramis ramirez will hurt the team with his lazy dumbass work ethic
