What’s up gents. A proper night on Tuesday going 3-1 racking up a few benjamins. Cats ended up winning the game straight up. 3 straight gutsy performances on the road by Silas’s team and they deserved to come out with a W. Dwayne Wade was excellent offensively and had close to 30 at the end of regulation to cash my prop, however, his turnovers cost Miami the game. Lebron needed OT to cash my prop, he was excellent down the stretch, but once again his inability to take care of the rock cost the Heat a home victory over the Hawks.
Large slate of games tonight, a lot of games scream no value to me. A lot of intangibles, situational aspects and roster inconsistencies swirl around a lot of games on today’s card. Trying to find value, hoping I did. 2 straight wagers tonight. Will also be playing my second poster teaser of the season. 1-0 poster, 3-1 on the season overall on 6 – 8 pt teasers. Hoping I picked the correct games in a large slate with quite a few leans. As always fellas, best of luck on your wagers today. Peace - - - MAK
INDIANA PACERS @ GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS
PICK: GOLDEN STATE – 3.0 (-120) - - - 3 UNITS
PICK: GOLDEN STATE MONEYLINE (-160) - - - 3 UNITS
The Golden State Warriors are the real deal. They can outscore any team in the NBA. I hear countless talks about All-Star nominations for individuals on non-playoff teams. I think it is about time Mont Ellis gets some recognition and that is why I voted for him for the all-star team. Obviously that vote won’t mean anything but I really do hope the coaches recognize a guy who is currently outplaying Kobe and Dwayne. Yes it is true, statistically...Monta Ellis is the best shooting guard in the NBA. He is averaging more points than Kobe and Wade, more assists, twice more steals and is shooting at a much better percentage from beyond the arc. Ellis is a Ninja, an assassin. His crossover is one of the best in the league, his quickness and shot making ability makes him very difficult to guard. Sag off him a bit and he will shoot the J in your face, crowd him and he will blow by you. Ellis is a legitimate star and one of the best offensive threats in the NBA. Monta loves playing vs Indy, last time these two met Ellis put up 45 points. Encore presentation tonight. Curry has been playing with injuries but is a “warrior” and continues to play and produce. Wright is the fantasy sleeper of the year, putting up big numbers. He is the best 3 point shooter in the NBA in terms of makes and will battle with Danny all game long. Don;t underestimate the lanky forward, he could go toe-to-toe with Granger. David Lee and Andris Biedrins will eat Tyler and Roy alive. Roy has been really struggling, no confidence in his game at all. Off a 4 and 4 performance look for the struggles to continue. Off the bench a strict rotation has cause Lou and Udoh to get minimal minutes. Buzz-kill, but Radmanovic, Reggie and Law have been playing decent and with the GS starters playing a majority of minutes, their lack of bench punch doesn’t scare me. The fact is Indiana struggles to win against teams with a high octane offense. When the tempo increases, Indiana lacks the ability to keep up offensively. Indiana is 4-10 this season when teams score over 100 points. GS is 8th in the NBA in offense, they have scored over 100 points in all but 4 of their home games, of the Warriors 16 wins this season all but two have come when they score over the century mark. The Indiana Pacers are a lottery team and a dismal road team. They rank in the bottom 20 in the NBA in points, assists, steals and turnovers....yikes. Golden State is starting to implement a steady rotation, Ellis is on a mission to make the All-Star team. Curry’s ankles are getting better, the big man Andris is back and capable of consistent double-double games. Wright is a gem and a 3 point cerebral assassin and David Lee changes the complexity of this team. Win or lose this game, give me the Warriors at home for 1 possession against a mediocre Eastern lottery team...I’ll bite every time.
LOS ANGELES LAKERS @ DALLAS MAVERICKS
PICK: TYSON CHANDLER OVER 7.5 REBOUNDS (-120) - - - 2.5 UNITS
Watching the Dallas @ Detroit game was excruciatingly
painful. Looking at the boxscore, you
probably thought Dirk played an excellent game...incorrect. Fuck his 30 points, he was a waste of space
on the basketball court. He played
little to no defense and did not box out on one single play...he was on the
court for 35+, I did not count one box out.
It cost them as Detroit got to every loose ball, every long
rebound. All the hustle plays in the
painted area belonged to Detroit.
Tonight Tyson returns, it still hurts to know Toronto could have had
Tyson as their starting 5 man this year if it wasn’t for MJ. I will always be bitter about that. Tyson is a beast, a defensive guru in the
post. Excellent timing, blocks shots and
changes a lot of decisions at the rim.
He is a game-changer and tonight no one else will influence their
presence in the post for Dallas, so Tyson should gobble up all the loose balls
and clean up the glass easy. He may even
have about 6-7 at the half. Like this
prop, Tyson should cash.
