I wrote off Dusty as a top manager after his undisciplined, "let the boys be boys and let's all just have fun" approach to the 2002 World Series. He has done nothing since to change my mind. I wish the man nothing but the best going forward, but not as a manager of a team I think has potential. Managing a baseball team is somewhat like raising kids and you have to have the proper mix of love, affection and discipline to train them up right. Dusty is not a butt-kicker at the times he needs to be. A few less rants at umpires and a few more toward his players would go a long way, but that just ain't Dusty and never will be. Nothing against the Nats either, but fewer stats versus a AAA division might help deflate some egos as well. This team NEEDS tougher competition to find out what they really are. It would be a shame if they ever compiled the most wins in a season and had HFA all the way through the playoffs and World Series. BOL to both Dusty and the Nats going forward.
Now, gentlemen, can we sustain one thread without all that p.o.s. crap?
Now and then even a BLIND squirrel can find an acorn
