Hello everyone. I've been following the forum week to week on covers for quite some time now and have finally decided to chime in. Let's cut right to the chase.
Alabama/Tennessee over 50.5
I don't know how this total is set so low when the spread is 36. Sabban is known for running it up, I know it's a rivalary but I see bama taking this one 49-17 giving us a huge cushion on the over. In 36% of my simulations Alabama scores over 50 alone.
That being said, I love teasing the over with other teams primed for a win such as ( Michigan state pickem, bama over 43.5) (UAB -.5, bama over 43.5) (SMU -.5, Bama over 43.5) etc etc
Any insight on my picks are appreciated.
im really considering laying out 10+ teasers using over 42.5 and teams primed to win with around -7 lines to make them Pickems

Can you list 3 games that Lou Saban ran up the scores?,Or one.
Your thread would get a lot more credibility if you could.

Terps500 - I like the over in this game, especially if teased down. I dont think Tenn will be needed to cover the total. So that isnt a concern to me.
Put it this way. if the over is set at 50 and you tease 7,10,13 pts your looking at 43,40,37 pts needed to hit the mark. Can anyone really tell me that they are worried about Bama scoring 5-6 tds in the game?

Not worried about teasers but then again the odds on teasers are shiit. I don't see Tennessee sniffing the endzone on this (unless maybe garbage time). I do see Bama getting close to 50. Perhaps a 48-6 type game. Over 50.5 is good. If Tennessee gets one TD, over 50.5 is pretty much a lock.
That's what Vegas is giving Tennessee; 6-7 points. And Bama 43-44 points (to total 51 and spread just above 5 TD's). Anything close to a shutout and I don't see the over hitting..
48-6 or 52-9 is more likely than 45-3! If Tennessee is at zero and Bama at 41, do we really see Bama put up 10 more points in the 4th quarter?

Both those Teasers hit w/ SMU and MSU, they will cover the 7 nevermind a pick. Baka scores 43 minimum so u need Tennessee to grab 1 field goal and your a winner, congratulations
