Tonight's Play:
CHieFs +3
There's a lot going into the reasoning for tonight's play and I'll touch on just a few key points.
1) The line and line movement. I am not a big fan of this method in most cases and generally only use it when it really clicks...and it's generally on primetime games with a "Big Name" team like the Patriots that the public focuses on mainly due to the name and success they've had in recent history. In this case, the line opened at 4 in most places, dropped to 3.5 pretty quickly....then it dropped to -3 with juice up to -130 all the way down to juice at +100 while staying at that key number of 3. Then dropped to -2.5 very briefly before going back to -3 with the juice all the way up to +115. Long story short, with the public on the Pats the line dropped from 4 to touching 2.5 briefly before setting back at 3 with + juice....bottom line, they are begging for Pats money here with the public already on them...most of us know what that means and every time I followed this exact type of "harsh" movement on primetime games this year, I've won.
2) This is NOT the patriots of the past. Yes they are still plenty talented, but Bradys age is showing and they don't have top notch receivers or backs....the offense has been out of sync, Brady is missing wide open throws, and it's soon to be rebuilding time in New England. It just couldn't last forever and I really believe we're seeing it unfold now and there won't be many more opps like tonight to take advantage of it.
3) Home field for the Chiefs. Some might take for granted just how loud and rowdy Arrowhead is. Well you can multiply it by 10 when MNF comes to town. Chiefs are 1-2, getting Charles back, got a TE on the rise and a game manager in Smith....all systems a go tonight and the crowd will be in this one! If there's a semi comparable stadium in the AFC to the Seahawks in the NFC, it's here!
