Usually this time of year we see the SEC top 2-4 teams stay undefeated r just 1 loss, while the PAC 12 , Big 12 and Big Ten start to get upset. Tagged with one loss they fall below a 1 loss SEC team EVERYTIME.
Not only that, the new Head of the Playoff Committee is Jeff Long, the AD at an SEC school Arkansas. Who wudda guessed ? So even with the new 4 team playoff, you can be darn sure they'll be steering the SEC to take at least 2 of those slots for a long time coming. It is what it is. Oregon might be more exciting and multi dimensional and faster, but a 1 loss Oregon would be left on the outside looking in, behind a 1 loss Alabama or LSU.
It is interesting but not important for gamblers--unless you like to make money in January in the NC Game and want to see non-SEC schools in there.
A lot of people hype up Saban's preparation, but they had a year preparing for A&M and escaped with two fortunate INTs and a narrow victory. It was not dominant football. It was weirdly undisciplined and atypical of Saban's teams--not to mention the throat slashing gesture, and a lot of whining about calls on the sidelines. They just didn't look dominant, and haven't all year. Overdue vs Arkansas, but besides shutting down Bo of Ole Miss at home, there hasn't been the great performance. They could do it tho in a 1 game at the end of the year.

No Baylor is not that good...their D is suspect, big time...Bama and Oregon would beat Baylor by 3 TDs...Baylor is probably the best team in an extremely weak big XII...
