Marijuana legalization votes this week in Colorado and Washington state
don't just set up an epic state-federal showdown on drug laws for
residents. The measures also open the door for marijuana tourism.

Lance i remember reading that they wanted to ban tourists from those cafes but then the locals started buying the dope and selling it to the tourists at a huge markup.
Legalize weed to negate drug dealers; enact legislation to generate a demand for drug dealers. A LOT of critical thinking went into that decision

As soon as the law gets enacted they will be able to positively bust someone for DUI of dope.......they will soon be administering blood tests if they suspect you are high........& you will get nailed just like a drunk driving charge.
Great job morons..........vote in another way for the man to take your money.

They can already do that up here if they suspect your on drugs, weed or otherwise, I don't know if it holds up in court or if they can demand a bloodtest but the fuckers will impound your car for 30 days at your expense of coarse.

Selling weed is a great way for a young dude to make some paper, that's what I did in the 90's, best years of my life, fuck the goverment.
No doubt.I know plenty of good people who got by tough times that way. And the demand exists for it; no reason the government shouldnt look into finding ways to make a little scrap off it, maybe invest in some friggen infrastructure.
Theres places in TO you can go and freely blaze in the cafes but they dont sell you product. One place on yonge street has vaporizers all over the place and you can rent bongs/pipes for like $5-$20. Costs $5 to get in (unless your a member) and they have like comedy night, movie nights and live music all the time. If the gov't just let em sell the stuff right there they'd be laughing. No different than a bar; but i guarantee you less fights, and less urine. The munchies they sell they sell they are fucking crazy expensive tho
There used to be a place where you could get weed milkshakes and laced brownies & cookies; you would get a room for an hour or whatever and it had a TV and video games and it was a good time. That got shut down maybe 3-4 years ago Who does that seriously harm?
I remember reading a while back that a city (possibly in portugal?) had separate areas behind glass for people to do drugs in public. It sounds fucked up, but as long as you keep that shit in one place and keep it monitored theres really no problem. In fact it actually works as a pretty good deterrent against drug use; but when you pretend its not happening and try to arrest the people you do catch, thats when you get gangs/crime/violence.

I gave up long before then, did not know there was still room for a middle man by then.I guess there are a few here who remember when a dime was a third of an O and not a tea spoon.

No one here will live to see the day that the feds give up on reefer.
A lifetime is a long time. Sooner or later the Feds have got to realize what a tremendous waste of resources it takes to enforce bogus laws when they could be controlling and taxing the same.

goose, you greatly underestimate the feds. they know perfectly well the waste of resources, but are far more interested in EXPANDING their influence, and can accomplish this by any and all 'wars' they declare. their resources are nearly infinite to do this.

Perhaps I do underestimate the Feds, after all, we citizens expect some sort of rational behavior and consorted reasoning apply to the problem at hand. Silly me for thinking the Feds think rationally when trying to resolve a multi-decades dilemma.

No.....not like they will now. This law establishes a baseline for THC levels, much like the .08% alcohol level for DWI's. I've never had it happen to me (I don't smoke anymore) & I've never heard of anyone getting a DUI for being stoned. That will now change with this law.

that's odd. people down here get dui's for marijuana, prescription drugs and/or illegal drugs often, certainly not as much as alcohol, but it's fairly common. and there's no baseline for any of those drugs like there is for alcohol although hopefully everyone knows you can still get a dui if your BAC is below 0.08.

If I smoke 2 weeks prior to driving and the cop wants to be a dick he can have my blood tested and it will test positive for marijuana. There is no way to tell if that person smoked prior to driving.

The limit/level is something like 50ng/ml of blood..........exceed that & you're legally impaired & can be prosecuted just like if you exceed the .08 BAC...........which of course means $$. Some literature I read said that the limit they established was nonsense.......that a person could smoke the night before & still be over the limit the next day.

that's interesting. i've never seen a limit for drugs. i'm surprised they do that in washington, sounds like the kind of nonsense they'd do down here, not that it's much better here.
