Had a bad day yesterday with the SPURS game missing both of my picks. Greg Pop threw a curveball and sent the pick to hell but it's alright. Time to bounce back with some more coin tossin' NBA preseason action.
My first pick tonight: SIXERS -2.5
I know the Sixers are coming off a B2B, playing 3 out of 4 nights but I just don't see the Knicks pulling this out one. I know it's Melo's first game back at Syracuse since becoming a Knick but with the NBA season DAYS away and Amare out, I can't see the Knicks wanting to wear out their starting lineup or rotations. The Knicks are going to want a thunderous start to the season and with their veteran rotation and bench, wearing them out in a preseason game against a quick and aggressive SIXERS team is not the way to do it. Also, they have their last preseason game coming against hometown rivals, the BROOKLYN NETS. I can guarantee you a loss against Philly is well worth a win against a rival Nets team. It's a matter of pride here.
The SIXERS have been trampling over opponents this preseason and even though I don't see a crazy margin of victory tonight, I can see them finishing +6-7 against the Knicks. They're going to want a decent end to their already great preseason run to give them that extra mental boost going into the regular season. This is a young team with a lot to prove and it's that mentality that will carry over.
As always, BOL everyone. Opinions, criticisms and input are always welcome.

Everyone, including myself, seems to be taking PHI. This worries me a little because most of the time when this happens, we loose. But I just can't see the Knicks pulling this one out.
If you're looking for another bet, check out Toronto -3. That bet looks solid too.

For all those saying Malo is going to have a huge game, even though Melo is back in Syracuse and there's going to be an insane crowd there to cheer him on, don't look for him to over exert himself in order to please the crowd. He knows the NBA is a long road and he won't want to spend himself before a big NETS game or worse, injure himself on a preseason against the SIXERS.

I like the sixers here to. I've been riding them since the first preseason game and i won't stop here. Preseason or not, the sixers are out to impress and they want to win. The team is playing good ball right now and really clicking i don't see that changing tonight. I agree it should b close throughout the entire game but the sixers should eventually start to pull away. I do think melo will be playing inspired ball and should but up numbers tonight but it won't b enough for the W. Sixers are too deep. Especially compared to the knicks bench depending who how many minutes the starters are getting. I'll stick with the ML just in case its get real close towards the end. Nothing worse then getting burned by a point or two

There wont be a huge crowd at the SU game. They did not sell a ton of tickets to this. Also the crowd will not be cheering the knicks on. They will be cheering both teams and the players. Outside of introductions for carmelo the crowd will not mean anything. The dome does not start rocking until the good big east teams come in
