the course got rain
Rain makes the fairways easier to hold and a 4 iron will stop on the greens. There are still only 20 people or so under par.

You wouldn't call it hard? The kid has been excelling in majors consistently, excluding sundays. When one golfer leaves the field behind, I'd say it's a pretty difficult course.

Yeah, by seeing the score board you would mistakenly say this is an AT&T National event rather than a US Open. This Congressional course isn't suited up well for US Open, seems like a regular PGA tourney. Let's see what will be the average scores at the Olympic next year, it will show Congressional is a joke.

Not to take anything away from Rory, he's kicking ass and playing awesome...but lets face it, this may as well be the Houston Shell Open and I know the case can be made that Rory is the only one that has teared it up for 3 straight days and that might be right, but these greens are a joke, 13 on the stimp? not quite believing that, every u.s open I've ever watched the greens were stupid fast, these guys are rolling in down hillers w/o fear, also 26 guys under par on a sat at the u.s open? thats ridiculous....wide fairways where you have to hit it like a 20 capper to get into the rough since theres no roll out on the fairways..
I know all the comparisons to Woods will be made after Rory wins today and with the gap between first and second I suppose its somewhat valid, but I doubt this kid would be at -14 at Pebble in 2000 let alone Pebble in 2010. This week doesn't have the feel of a major, guys are breaking off 65's left and right, again, congrats to the kid because he's hitting it better than anyone but I'd be shocked if this course was used again in the rotation, theres no fear on this course right now, 3woods are nearly backing up when hitting greens....this is the one tournament a year where you want to see guys sweating their nutsacks to get pars.....this is probably for the Tiger will never win another major thread but this performance and all the babbling about how great Rory is and all his records will surely get TW's attention and motivate him even more, its too easy right now and for the last 2+ yrs to beat on Woods due to injuries, personal life etc...I think the guy has a run left in him just my opinion, i know all the people who have never done anything wrong in their lives despise woods and damn him to hell every second they can but TW playing at 100% is good for golf hate him or love him..IMO of course...
