Quite the cozy 'man-zone' he's got there. Him and his wife sitting by the fire, enjoying a night of television... only, he's got a headset on and his mind is probably constantly racing all day and night long. What a gem of a wife to be able to deal with that.
If you won as much as he did betting your wife would love it to.

And at the risk of sounding like a conspiracy theorist....
The whole thing seemed like a Miller Beer commercial to me. Pretty young lady with big boobs, with older man. Lady laughs at all jokes, flirts, and is over the top for a journalist (didnt notice much the first time, but watch it again). Man lives fantasy life, deserves lots of things and pretty women (and beer).
One might say that this was a calculated step in the glamorization of sports betting, kind of like the transformation poker went through in the early 2000's. Show a few heroes who have "made it", make it accessable to the average joe, keep up with the celebrity lifestyle portrayal, and you have a booming business.
Like I said, Im not sure whether to believe it or not, but it sure seems like this could be interpreted to appear that we are at the start of a "normalization and glamorization" of sports betting. Im not sure why else Billy Walters would do it, and it sure seems like 60 minutes sure knew what they were doing when they sent that reporter instead of an old man.
I never met a hater better than me. I am on twitter

Good make sports betting legal in every state. Will probably happen in several states soon to get out of the next major debt crisis common which is a lot of states going broke.

by my calculations considering this was done when week 14 nfl games were out he won a boat load of $ on the titans and/or over in the thursday night game. if anyone remembers how the titans covered, we all know he was lucky as hell.

What you don't understand is that he will only play weak lines. Runners will call their outs for a rundown and the runners will only play at certain numbers, if the line is strong, they will pass. It's like going to 5 different supermarkets looking for a specific price on tuna fish and you will only buy if the price is right or under the price.

Fade Walters whatever his pick is on the superbowl...Thats his motive, look succuessfull a month before the superbowl, be on 60 mins then come out with his pick, and get all the money on the Greenbay or Pittsburgh, depending who is in the superbowl which should be in the superbowl, my guess it will be greenbay, they will romp chicago, they should of beat them in twice, but had 17 penatlyies in the first game, from chicago, and love chicago, but not a chance lovie or cutler have to keep up with the packers. 24-7 packers, and pitt hangs on in a nail bitter.everyone will be on the pack with a huge win and watch pitt win the superbowl and the best nfl franchise ever...

C'mon Man! That piece was to get the juices going in all those in the age group of 14 -24 year olds who just watched a very close football game (14-11) that was interesting (to non-bettors) until the end. That piece has implanted a seed into them that they can bet these games in Las Vegas and that a sportsbook like the M will take large bets. This will entice the younger generation to hit Vegas, which is recovering from the recession. This also plants a seed in them in which "somebody" has inside information or "guaranteed winners" and these suckers will end up paying a tout for picks.

What will hit home the most, is his words "I've had losing weeks, and I've had losing months, but I've never had a losing year" will give these newbies reason to continue sports betting even though they are losing three weeks in a row or three months in a row. They'll be chasing and the above quote will justify their chasing. Also they showed the 20 million dollar jet, Don Best odds, and a huge house to try to lure more suckers into the world of sports betting, because they know that in order to survive, they need all the squares they can get to pump more NEW money into the death cycle. It's like ponzi scheme, in order for it to survive, it needs new money to come in.

I like the last part of the segment how he mentioned the people in suits in wall street are far worst than sports gamblers
After reading "the Big Short" talking about the current financial crisis brought on by easy mortgages and those wall-street investment banks...I highly doubt wall-street is any better than a Vegas Bettor, other than wealth stolen (assuming amount is king)....
C'mon at least the spread and result is known in sports-gambling, while betting on AAA bonds on a Mezziane level is fucking nuts when dealing w/ Goldman or their "subsidiaries" which includes the likes of S&P who is suppose to be "unbiased" yet love the Goldman spooge they swallow
At least in sports gambling you can understand the "JUICE" but in investment gambling it is impossible to even know what side your own bank is on when telling you 1 story yet following another...Wall Street has lived WAY PAST IT'S WORTH, and 1 day the common man will not tolerate those lies, at least the vegas billioniare casino tells you upfront they will likely take your $$$

anybody notice that atlanta falcons commercial with the entire team / organization on the school.
before the packers/falcons game i saw that commercial at least 3 times more than any other commercial spots for games. that commercial has been aired constantly throughout the season.
led me to believe that vegas wanted these commercials aired more frequently in order to attract more money on the falcons....thoughts?

Good thing he is good at sports gambling, because he knowledge of the stock market was pathetic at best. No wonder he was so bitter about losing money in the market though, he gambled on a bunch of shit companies! What a rube.

I can agree with this assessment. After viewing it myself twice, I noticed the 2nd time all the appealing and persuasive ways they painted gambling. I cannot help but think this was a move at promoting the sports betting industry by making the viewers think they can be a "Billy Walters" if they spend 2 hours a day watching Sportscenter. The lady was super hot and flirtatious with Billy, it made me think that she was picked to do it to exacerbate the image of Billy's success. I now understand why this piece was so interesting, because it makes you think about what it would be like to live like "Billy Walters" and how easy they made his business seem to work.

Cool show and, yes, hot babe! It is curious about the timing. Football betting is peaking now, play-offs then SB. Leading right into CBB conference and NCAA national t'ments.
Could the idea of legalizing sports book betting be raised by CBS in an upcoming show?

Umm, NO. Although the most bet game during the year is the Superbowl, that is one game. There is many more millions bet each weekend than Superbowl weekend.

I'm aware of that, but the the number of betters and the amounts bet go up in the play-offs.
