I have lived in CT my whole life and feel I have been spoiled with the quality of pizza. Outside of CT, NY, NJ, RI, and MA.. I do not think a good pizza place exists. I do not know if people do not understand how to make pizza or they just think Dominos, Pizza Hut etc are actually good.
I was in Maryland and was told the best pizza was Pizza hut
Best Pizza in the world is in New Haven, CT on Wooster St... Pepes, Sallys, the Spot and if you don't want to wait then right around the corner is Modern. And nothing makes pizza great without stopping at Libby's for some Italian ice and pastries.
What are some great pizza places in other states so I can try them when I am traveling?

jpero - no offense but the best pizza in the world is made in NYC...either manhattan or brooklyn.
brick oven only...and its the water. i think thats the only reason why the pizza is so good here
Wooster Street is brick oven pizza... all of the places
Theres a reason Sinatra would drive to Sallys after his shows in NYC rather than going to a place in NYC. Also Presidents have made stops at the places I have mentioned and been refused service because they came on Mondays and everyone knows Pizza places aren't open Mondays.

It has to be the water. Bagels and Pizza in those states taste completly different than the rest of the country.
Does Chicago have good pizza? They have the whole deep dish thing going. Never been there to try and compare it though. One day when I make my way to Wrigely Field.

Have to agree with JPero... Connecticut Pizza is the best in the world hands down. Wooster Street Pizza plus a restaurant named Bar by Yale hospital. Never had pizza that comes close to these places.

I have a good friend who lives in upper PA and he sent me via overnight main this famous pizza from that area, I threw out the box but sealed half of it and froze, ate a month later..some of the best pizza I have ever had.
Anyone from the KOP area in Philly probably knows of a place I liked when we lived there called TD Alfredos.. hole in the wall place, cheap prices but good pizza.
I forget the name of the place my friend sent from, but they ship worldwide he said..not thin crust, but not too thick either..simple sauce, olive oil brushed crust and light cheese mix. VERY good.

Not exactly sure of the name, but in college we would always play Yale and after the games we ate at this bangin pizza joint in New Haven, right near the campus, place was also famous for ice cream, shakes, etc.
Probably one of the places you listed...
And if your ever in Philly try Lazarro's (19th and South) or Lorenzo's (3rd and South)

I'm in LA, and good pizza joints are few and far between. I went to a very good old-timey place in Eagle Rock, but it's been so long I forgot what it's called and where it is. But it has to be the best known and highest regarded place in Eagle Rock, so one of my fellow Angelinos has to know it.......
Aside from that, Angelo's in Alhambra is pretty good.

well, i wouldn't say it is my favorite, and i would watch out for pizza in general because we used to drop dough on the floor in High School and just throw it on the tin and make a pizza...and the owner is who told us to do it. ahhhh, i miss high school and no reponsibility jobs(sigh).
