There really are lots of interesting, fun-to-watch-methinks, games this week, many of which are rather off the beaten track.
UNC goes TO ODU.
The Heels have almost no defense. The 'Narcs have shown virtually no
offense. The total seems low, as UNC is going to get their, and I don't
think they can hold anyone with a pulse of the board.
SMU catches TCU, seemingly, in a great spot. Would love to see it creep to 20, but don't think that's going to happen.
KSU
visits Vandy in a really intriguing match-up. I like both teams a lot
this year. KSU will probably bring as many fans as Vandy has. Should be
a good one. Like the Cats to win, not sure about the 4, though.
Cincy goes from scaring Michigan in the Big House to a road dog at Mother Miami?
I know it's a rivalry (but not in the way it used to be), but shouldn't
UC have better skil guys than the Redskins (or whatever they are this
week)?
Total is 49.5 in a Florida game. Hmm. Seems about 29 too high.
Baylor/Duke.
What would that line have been pre-season - BU -16.5? It's only swung
30 points in two weeks, but home losses to Liberty and UTSA will do
that. As an aside, Northwestern has pretty much looked like crap twice, and the Milcats' coach was in shorts for his blowout loss in Durham. Yes, it looked as ridiculous as it sounds.

Why is Syracuse giving 8.5 to CMU? Didn't the Orange just lost to MTSU at home? Didn't CMU just win at KU? Seems fishy.
Fresno sure looked like a team that ought to be able to cover five touchdowns at UDub. Whoever made their schedule up must hate them.
Can anyone recall Pitt getting beaten badly at home? Pokes on the back end of two-game roady. Pitt off decent, sort of, effort at PSU. Total seems way too high, as Pitt's just not going to light it up against anyone.

Keep in mind that CMU should've lost at home to Rhode Island in Week 1, but the RI kicker missed a 25 yarder.

ISU played, and lost, its Super Bowl last week in OT. Now they have to go play in front of ten people and a dog at Akron. Their skill guys should still be too much for the Zips, one would think.
Sticking in the Corn Belt, you would think the back door will be open in Iowa City, with a North Texas team that has shown the ability to score. Iowa had Big14 opener on deck. Nice spot to take three touchdowns.
LaTech isn't as bad as last week's score seems to indicate, as they had all sorts of things go wrong. I'll take the 7+ at WKU, who really looked awful against what should be a pretty average Illinois team. Power ratings maybe lagging actual decline at WKU.
LSU generally plays better in Starkville than it does any place on Earth. Still, Dogs sure look like a live dog here against a team still kind of trying to find itself, especially on offensive side of ball.

SU managed 308 yards on 91 snaps last week (that's really hard to do). Total now 65.5. I think they get over that this week.
One of the MTSU coordinators was the former Cuse coach from 2 years ago or something like that so he had a pretty good grasp on how to slow down the Orangemen. Or is it Orange now? Don't matter... And I heard this on the satellite radio, so it has to be true.

I'm musing Delaware goes to the playoffs...or am I confusing muse with miracle
I'm not sure Delaware is the best football team in Delaware (which is about the size of a really big Arby's). Wesley College, Smryna High and Sallies would all give the Hens trouble. New coach and new AD will get things turned around, but there's shockingly little talent in the program at the moment. Cornell is catching 17/5 "between our hedges" this week in Newark.

I had mentioned it being really hard to run 91 plays for 300 yards, but maybe it isn't as tough as I thought. Virginia, which dropped football as a varsity sport in 1992, managed nearly the same thing last week at home against Indiana. UConn, which also likes to run a lot of plays poorly, invades Charlottesville (sans tiki torches) this week. We could easily see 180 plays from scrimmage and two touchdowns. Anyone who lays points with the Hoos is braver than me (a low bar to be sure, but still...).

Taking a break from switching sides on the Memphis/UCLA game every five minutes, I noticed that Penn was opening this weekend against Ohio Dominican. Let me repeat that, Ohio Dominican. Now, I understand that the Post-War days of the Quakers and Chuck Bednarik hosting Navy in front of 80,000 at Franklin Field probably aren't coming back, but Ohio Dominican? For the record, (the other) ODU lost to something called Saginaw Valley last year, and was edged by Ferris State, 41-0. If you're going to play nobody before your conference slate starts, and you've got a 65,000 seat stadium, at least make it a nobody from the region. I assume Albright would have brought 45+ people. Gettysburg would have flirted with 75. It's not like Penn needs the "W" to bolster it's bowl resume. Puzzling.

Living in Ohio, I am not familiar with Ohio Dominican but an educated guess would say that is a baseball school.

We have too look at just who that UNC defense went up against..
.They faced CAL in week 1.......UNC gave up 469 YDS and 35 PTS.....Yes thats alot of offense but they actually held CAL to under their 511 total YDS of offense and 39 points they averaged all of last season per game.
In week 2 they ran into the best player in college football in Lamar Jackson....IMO he should be the favorite to win a 2nd Heisman...Its way to early to label UNC a garbage defensive team based on these 2 games alone.
You are correct though that O.D. has zero offense......I think the UNC defense gets healthy and back on track against that non existent unit..........UNC is picking up right where it left off scoring 30+ per game..........I am all over UNC -8......Line now at 10
