I realize that a quarterback needs an o-line to be effective, but he also needs to be fluid and mobile and evasive in the pocket, with a 6th sense about when he is about to be hit. I see none of that with Ryan Tannehill. I see a guy who drops back, stands there like a stone statue, and fumbles. It's as if he has no idea at all about when the hammer is about to come down on him. He cannot wiggle away because he lacks anticipation skills. He can throw a decent ball usually, but without mobility, that 6th sense in the pocket, and anticipation, he is hopelessly doomed to mediocrity. What the h#$% was he doing in the off season? You would think with the money he is being paid someone would have worked with him to develop that subtle pocket awareness and evasiveness. But it is totally absent. He is a statue waiting to fumble every time he drops into the pocket.

To be fair the o-line were basically sleds the whole game. The guy with the dreds looked clueless out there...I saw a good 5 downs where he had nobody blocked, easily juked, and would get pushed 5 yards back into the QB almost every play. The worst o linemen I've seen in a game.

He was a wr in college and converted to QB and it shows
He will screw you over every game and I mean every game just like geno with the jets a few years ago
never heard that phrase "dumpster fire" LOL ... wouldn't that be a kind of contained fire? It seems more like a hotel fire in this particular case, doesn't it?

Was this the first game you've watched that he's been QB for? He's been trash for 5 years.
Papa, he actually showed pretty good promise in his first year or two, so he stoked the hopes of fans. But he has not progressed much after that. He seems hopelessly stuck in the land of average if that. Horrible progress. You simply cannot buy a fake Rolex and expect people to get excited.

I agree AFN ... but a good quarterback will find a way to make it happen even if that line is pretty bad. Tannehill stands there like he is oblivious to the rush, gets hit, fumbles, and the Fins lose. He needs to study Dan Marino tapes every day for 30 minutes the rest of his career. Marino could step up into the pocket, had that 6th sense, was not easy to sack. Sacking Tannehill is like sacking a fixed object. Incredible.

Like PS said was this your first time watching him? It's been his biggest knock since he came into the league.
That team is absolutely terrible. They won't win more than right games the rest of the way.
Hope dies slowly Popcorn. But its about to die with Tannehill much faster this season. I think I tried to give him a chance to develop. Of course I saw his poor pocket presence, but since he was a converted receiver, I guess I assumed he would learn to be better. He has not learned. Period. He is stuck in first gear.

What is he on, his 4th OC and 4th coaching staff or something like that? One legit offensive weapon and huge turnover on the line? They didn't utilize Miller like they should've. He's gone. Incognoto b****ed up a whiny rookie, they let him go and he's an all pro for another team. I don't think he gets all the blame here. Everyone does from the top down.

Not trying to sound like a know it all but you can tell extremely quick if someone has "it" imo. Even if someone has a terrible season statistically like a Manning in his rookie year. You know he's going on to do great things.
I tried telling Bills fans this all season about Taylor. Extremely limited and an athlete playing QB. "Nah, nah hes gunna explode" etc.
How funny is it that the Patriots have the best 2 QB'S in the division and probably the 4th best as well. Amazing teams haven't copied them more considering their so far ahead of the rest of the NFL.

To piggy back off of your Patriots reference, continuity exists within that organization as it does with all successful NFL teams. I don't think Tannehill is a potential all pro, but the circumstances aren't entirely his fault.
