The Redskins Rule is a trend involving NFL football and presidential elections.
This coincidence has held true since 1940.
The Redskins moved to Washington in 1937. Since then, there have been 18 presidential elections. In 17 of those, the rule applied:
If the Redskins win their last home game before the election, the party that won the previous election wins the next election. If the Redskins lose, the challenging party's candidate wins.
Final score today: Carolina Panthers 21- Washinton Redskins @ home 13........

it's the "battle of the logical fallacies" this election. Redskins LOSE is supposed to = Republican win BUT Alabama WIN over LSU is supposed to = Democrate win
the "Super Bowl Indicator' was another "logical fallicy" that predicted the stock market for the next year. was original NFC win (which included Steelers and Colts) = UP market. original AFC win = DOWN market. worked for just over a decade BUT now means NOTHING

C'mon Slim, didn't you have long hair back in the 60's and 70's?
I picture Slim as the kid with black eye glasses and a plastic pen pocket protector on his shirt pocket. Maybe a slide rule in there too. Definitely the crew cut hair style and white socks. Founder of the school chess club. Water boy for the debate team.

Goose, just think after a day of protesting the war and a huge bong hit, Hillary would be fun in the sack or the sleeping bag.
Maybe if she invited a few of her girlfriends over to join the party. And that's probably the deal because Bill likes multiple female partners and Hillary has been rumored to munch the carpet.

Getting back to the real subject of the OP in this thread...
And I really hate to burst your bubble Slim...
But, in full accordance with the ENTIRE Redskin Rule, Mitt Romney is going to win the popular vote and lose the election...
In the 2004 election, Bush was re-elected in a bit of
history that forced an amendment to the tradition. The Redskins lost
to the Green Bay Packers, which would seem to put an end to the trend.
Not so fast -- there was an advanced statistic at work here.
Because Al Gore actually won
the popular vote in 2000 — but lost in the Electoral College — it
reversed the polarity of the subsequent election. The opposite of the
usual 'Redskins Rule' was true.
Thus, the following revision:
"Redskins Rule 2.0 established that when the popular vote
winner does not win the election, the impact of the Redskins game on
the subsequent presidential election gets flipped. So, with that, the
Redskins' loss in 2004 signaled that the incumbent would remain in the
White House."
